Maurice Yates was a true innovator with his pioneering work in fluid dynamics, which created the Yatesmeter - the world’s most accurate thermometer capable of measuring the minute temperature changes required to unlock industrial scale energy efficiency. He was generations ahead of his time and the Green Agenda, and through his storied career his endeavours increased industrial energy efficiency across the globe. His passion for solving complex problems was most evident in his lifelong fascination with games and the effects of probability, this was most noticeably seen in his notable chess playing ability, where in his early 20’s was ranked 4th in the UK. Throughout his life this games collection grew as he searched for interesting chess boards from his work travels.
Find this collection within our November Interiors.
