Duke’s specialist department for medals and militaria has experienced significant growth in recent years, attracting collectors and historians alike with a broad range of rare and historically significant pieces.

The department covers a diverse spectrum of items including medals, weapons, uniforms, antique arms and armour, regularly appearing in both our monthly Avenue Collectors’ Auctions and highlights in our Quarterly Fine Art Sales.

Recent highlights include:
- The Exceptional Afghanistan 'Op Herrick 8' C.G.C. Group of Eight, awarded to Corporal (later Colour Sergeant) A.J. Stevens, Royal Irish Regiment, which sold for £156,000*
- The historically important 'Jolly Roger' from the submarine HMS Unbroken, linked to covert SOE operations under Peter Churchill, sold for £13,000*
- A Victorian German cap-à-pie field armour, in 16th-century style, sold for £7,800*
