Duke’s specialist department offers a wide range of mechanical clocks and scientific instruments, spanning from the earliest horological creations of the 14th century to contemporary masterpieces.

Collectors value both English and Continental examples, with particular demand for renowned makers such as the Knibb family, Thomas Tompion, William Dutton, and the Vulliamy family.

Recent auction highlights include:
- An ebonised and brass-mounted bracket clock by Benjamin Gray and Justin Vulliamy, sold for £37,700*
- A Louis XVI white marble, patinated and gilt bronze mantel clock by Jean-Antoine Lépine of Paris, sold for £7,150*
- An early 18th-century inlaid walnut longcase clock by Joseph Windmills of London, sold for £6,500*
